BEYOND THE CYCLE

I know I don't want to keep doing this. Why do I keep ending up here?

A 12-week virtual therapy group for adults who identify as men who want to understand and change recurring patterns of problematic or compulsive sexual behavior, without being reduced to shame, willpower, or a label. Virtual, in Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.

You've promised yourself you'd stop. You understand the consequences. You feel awful afterward. And still, everything you know can disappear when the urge comes back.

This isn't a willpower problem. It's a cycle, and a cycle can be understood. The question isn't why you can't just stop. It's what happens before, during, and after, and what the behavior has come to do for you.

What happens before, during, and after matters more than another promise to stop.

You already know why

If you're here, you've probably already tried to force your way out of this on grit alone, and it hasn't worked. You understand the pattern. You can explain it. You may have named your triggers, read the books, learned the language, and mapped the cycle in therapy. And you're still living it.

That gap, between knowing and changing, is exactly what this group is for.

Why knowing isn't always enough

Understanding the pattern doesn't always change it. The part of you that reaches for the behavior didn't learn it in words, and it doesn't answer to words alone.

Beyond the Cycle works at the level where the pattern actually lives: in the body, in the nervous system, in the parts of you that learned to meet a need this way a long time ago. Insight still matters. It just isn't the whole job.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CONVERSATION

Less shame. More understanding and choice.

Beyond the Cycle is not built around labels or the assumption that pornography, masturbation, kink, high desire, or consensual sexual interests are inherently unhealthy.

We focus on your experience: what the behavior does for you, where it may be getting in the way, and what you want to be different. The goal is not to impose abstinence or someone else's values. It is to help you develop more understanding, choice, and alignment with the life and relationships you want.

Who this group is for

Beyond the Cycle is a 12-week virtual therapy group for adults ages 18 and older who identify as men, including cisgender and transgender men. If you are nonbinary and feel connected to the group's focus, you are welcome to contact Sasha to discuss fit before joining the interest list.

You are welcome across sexual orientations, racial and cultural identities, spiritual backgrounds, disabilities, neurotypes, and consensual relationship structures. There is no single right way to be a man here.

What change can look like

Not "never doing this again." The aim is more room: recognizing the cycle earlier, understanding what it's been doing for you, tolerating urges and distress differently, and building responses that line up with the person you actually want to be.

That means more awareness, more options in the moment, accountability and repair where possible, and more choice, not a guarantee that the pattern disappears forever. Integration that holds up in your real life matters more than a dramatic shift that doesn't.

What stays yours

You won't be asked to describe explicit details of your sexual behavior, revisit them in a group setting, or perform your worst moments. That's not what changes this.

What we do work with is the cycle: what happens before, during, and after; what the behavior provides temporarily; what need, state, urge, or feeling has become connected to it; and what becomes possible when there's more room inside it.

Why a group, and not just individual therapy

This isn't a support group where you sit and listen to a lecture, and it isn't a substitute for individual therapy when you need it. The unique work of the group is relational: you get to practice being in relationship, notice patterns in real time, experience being witnessed without having to perform, experiment with boundaries, and notice the urge to disappear, please, fix, control, withdraw, or take care of others.

You get to discover, with others, that saying "no" doesn't automatically end connection. Many people have never tested that, and the cycle survives partly because they never have.

How screening works

A brief consultation helps us decide together whether this group offers the kind of support you're looking for. If another service would fit your needs better, Sasha will talk with you about possible next steps.

Privacy in the group

Privacy matters here. You decide what you share, your workbook remains private, and no one is required to disclose graphic sexual details. Because this is a group, confidentiality expectations and limitations will be reviewed carefully before enrollment.

If relationship support is also needed

Beyond the Cycle is individual group therapy rather than couples therapy. If relationship support is also needed, Sasha can help you consider what additional care may be useful.

How the group works

Beyond the Cycle is a structured virtual therapy group informed by cognitive-behavioral, sexual-health, relational, and relapse-prevention approaches.

YOUR PARTICIPANT WORKBOOK

A private place to understand the cycle

Your investment includes the designated participant workbook used with this structured group. It supports private reflection on patterns, triggers, choice points, personal values, relationships, and the changes you want to continue practicing between meetings.

You may use the workbook to prepare for conversations or notice something you want to explore, but you will never be required to show completed pages, submit your writing, or disclose anything simply because you wrote about it.

This resource is here to support your experience, not to measure your progress. Nothing is submitted, graded, or required to be shared with the group.
