Change, In Real Life

Private Coaching for Individuals, Couples & Professionals

You know what you want to do.
Then real life happens.

You can think something through a hundred different ways and feel pretty clear about what you want to do. Then you're standing in front of the person. Or it's time to send the email. Quit the job. Make the decision. Say no. Actually start the thing you've been talking about starting.

And suddenly it's different.

That's the part I like working with.

Maybe you're making a big change and need someone who can help you sort through it without telling you what you should do. Maybe you already made the decision and now have to figure out how the hell you're going to pull it off.

Or maybe you don't know yet. You just know you don't want to keep doing things the way you've been doing them.

Virtual and select in-person coaching may be available depending on location, what you're working on, and availability.

What are you trying to do?

This is usually where we start. Something in your actual life needs to change.

Maybe it's a decision. A conversation. A relationship. A move. A career. A boundary. A business. A role you've outgrown. Something you're trying to build. Something you're trying to leave.

You might know exactly what you want and need help figuring out how to do it. You might have absolutely no idea what you want yet.

Both are workable.

Where we might work

Life & Change

This is a pretty big category on purpose.

Maybe you've thought...

“I know I need to make a change. I just haven't done it.”

“I've asked everyone what they think. I'm somehow less sure now.”

“I know exactly what I want to say until I'm standing in front of them.”

“I worked really hard to get here. Why don't I want this anymore?”

A car interior at early morning, keys and phone on the dash. The in-between moment of heading somewhere.

Sometimes you need room to think. Sometimes you need a plan. Sometimes you need to practice what you're going to say before you say it.

And sometimes you need someone willing to ask, “Okay, but what are you actually going to do?”

Relationships & Couples

You can love each other and still be really tired of having the same conversation.

Two chairs at a kitchen table, two coffee mugs, morning light. The quiet evidence of a conversation.

Maybe it sounds something like...

“We already know what we fight about.”

“We said we weren't going to do this again. We did it again.”

“There isn't some huge crisis. We just can't keep doing this the same way.”

“We need to make a decision and neither of us wants to be the one to make it.”

Sometimes couples come in with something specific they need to figure out. A decision. A transition. Sex. Work. Family. Money. How they're dividing their lives. Whether they're even headed in the same direction.

Other times, there's nothing dramatic happening. You're just noticing that the way the two of you are doing something isn't working anymore.

We can get very practical with that.

You don't need another conversation about the pattern. You need a different experience inside it.

Work, Leadership & Building Something

I have a particular soft spot for people who built something they wanted and then realized, “Oh. I accidentally made myself a job I hate.”

I've done versions of that myself.

Or maybe...

“I have twelve ideas and absolutely no idea which one I'm actually doing.”

“This is working, but it isn't working for me.”

“I know what needs to go. I just haven't stopped doing it.”

“I think I want something different. I have no idea what different is yet.”

A desk mid-work, handwritten notes with arrows and crossed-out words, a pen, a coffee ring. Thinking and building.

This can be about starting something new, changing careers, growing a business, creating a new offer, leading people, deciding what to stop doing, or trying to build work that actually fits the rest of your life.

I'm not going to pretend to be your accountant, attorney, marketing agency, or business guru. If that's what you need, I'll tell you.

What I am very good at is sitting down with something complicated, asking a lot of questions, noticing what doesn't add up, and helping you figure out what you're actually trying to build.

We don't have to stop at talking about it.

We can practice the conversation.

Write the first version.

Make the decision.

Map out what happens next.

Try the boundary out loud.

Look at the calendar.

Pull apart the idea.

Figure out what you're avoiding.

Rehearse the meeting.

Test the plan.

Change the plan.

Decide what you're doing Monday morning.

Because at some point, another beautiful plan you'll never use is just another beautiful plan you'll never use.

The work should be useful in your actual life.

Ways to work together

Private Coaching

For something you want enough time to actually work on. We choose a clear focus and work together while you're doing it in real life. That means you get to come back with actual information.

“I tried it.”

“That worked.”

“That absolutely did not work.”

“I changed my mind.”

“Here's what happened.”

Good. Now we have something useful to work with.

Private Day

Sometimes you don't need months of meetings. You need enough uninterrupted time to finally deal with the thing you've been circling.

A Private Day gives us concentrated time around one clear goal. It might be a decision, a relationship issue, a professional crossroads, something you're building, or a change that needs more room than a standard conversation gives it.

We're not trying to solve your entire life in a day. We're deciding what we're here to do and giving it our full attention.

Private Engagement

This one exists because people kept asking me for something I didn't have a name for.

They didn't necessarily want another Zoom meeting. They wanted help while they were in the middle of doing something difficult or important.

So, in some situations, I can work with you for a longer stretch of time or travel to you.

I don't have a standard itinerary for this because that would defeat the point. We'd first figure out what you're trying to do, why having me there would be useful, and whether I'm actually the right person for it.

These are limited and considered individually.

Destination coaching may be available by arrangement. If travel is involved, I'll provide a custom quote that includes the coaching and expected travel costs before you decide whether to book. Coaching is separate from therapy and does not include mental health treatment.

A quick note about coaching

Change, In Real Life is a nonclinical coaching service, not psychotherapy.

I also maintain a separate clinical practice through Sasha Flores Therapy. When you hire me through Change, In Real Life, I am working with you as a coach, not as your therapist.

If what you're asking for belongs in psychotherapy or another professional service rather than coaching, I'll tell you.

Start with what you're trying to do.

You don't need to figure out which kind of coaching you need before you contact me.

Tell me what's happening. Tell me what you're trying to change, decide, build, navigate, or finally do.

I'll read your application and decide whether I think I'm the right person to help. If I am, I'll recommend what I think makes sense. If I'm not, I'll tell you that too.
