Who this retreat is for

This retreat is for mothers and daughters between the ages of 10 and 14 who already have a reasonably safe relationship and want more from it: more ease, more understanding, and more room to practice the ordinary parts of staying connected.

You do not need to be in the middle of a crisis to belong here. Most of what we practice is everyday: how to say a hard thing kindly, how to listen without immediately fixing, how to notice a small rupture and find your way back to each other.

A daughter at this age is often becoming more herself and more private at the same time, and that can be tender for both of you. This is time set aside to be together with structure and guidance, and no pressure to perform a version of closeness that is not real yet.

SCOPE

What this is, and what it is not

This is an experiential and psychoeducational retreat. It is time to learn and practice together, with guidance, in a setting that steps outside the pace of everyday life.

It is not family psychotherapy. It is not trauma treatment. It is not a program designed to resolve serious relational harm.

If what is happening in your relationship involves harm or safety concerns that need a different kind of care, this retreat is not the right container, and the interest form is not the place to sort that out. Sasha will say so directly and help you think about what would fit better.

Nothing here is a diagnosis, and nothing here assumes something is wrong with your family. Families do not need to be in serious conflict to participate.

What we practice together

The work is practical and relational. Mothers and daughters practice alongside each other, not about each other.

  • Communication

Saying what you actually mean, and hearing what the other person actually said.

  • Boundaries

What is yours, what is mine, and how to say so with care at this age and stage.

  • Repair

What to do after a small rupture, so it does not have to grow into a bigger one.

  • Understanding each other

Noticing how two people can live through the same moment and experience it very differently.

BEFORE REGISTRATION

A separate suitability process comes first

Participation involves a separate suitability process before registration is confirmed. It is a conversation, not a test, and it happens outside this form.

That process includes guardian permission and your daughter's voluntary assent. Both matter. A daughter who does not want to be there will not get much from being there, so her willingness is part of the process, not a formality.

Registration is confirmed only after the suitability process is complete. Until then, joining the interest list does not reserve a place, and no payment is collected.

The suitability conversation is completed separately through the secure SimplePractice Client Portal.
